Common questions

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Your subscription is billed by Apple. To manage or cancel it, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Canceling stops renewal at the end of the current period; refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How much is free?

Your first 100 books per library are free, with no time limit and no trial to cancel. The free tier includes household sharing, syncing across your devices, and the web library. The $39.99/year subscription raises the limit to 1,000 books per library and unlocks Ask. One subscription covers everyone in a shared library. If a library is already over the limit, nothing is taken away — you keep browsing, editing, searching, syncing, and sharing, and only adding new books stops.

I subscribed but the app still asks me to subscribe.

Tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen while signed in with the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. You can reach it any time from Settings → Account → Subscription. If it still doesn't unlock, email us and we'll sort it out.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This removes your account and libraries from our servers and erases the catalog from your device. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

A shelf scan missed some books.

Spine reading works best with a straight-on photo in good light. You can always add stragglers by barcode, copyright-page scan, or title search. If a scan consistently fails, email us the photo and we'll investigate.

Can my household share one library?

Yes — in Settings → Libraries, choose your library and tap Share / invite to generate an invite code or QR code. Everyone you invite sees the same catalog, in sync, and each member needs their own sign-in.

Where can I use my library besides the app?

Your catalog is also available on the web at homelibrarycompanion.com/app — sign in with the same Apple Account. No subscription needed; the web library works on the free tier too. You can browse, search and edit there; adding books happens in the app, where the camera is.
