Home Library Companion — Terms of Use (End User License Agreement)
Last updated: July 9, 2026
By downloading or using Home Library Companion (the "App"), published by Creative Sonar, LLC ("we," "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service and these Terms.
2. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing
Home Library Companion is offered as an auto-renewing subscription.
- Free trial. New subscribers may receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it automatically converts to a paid subscription and your Apple Account is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Price and length. US$39.99 per year (annual). Prices may vary by region and are shown on the App Store and on the in-app purchase screen before you buy.
- Auto-renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the then-current price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Payment. Charges are billed to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Manage or cancel. You can manage or cancel anytime in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions (your Apple Account settings). Turning off auto-renew stops future charges; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and the current period is not refunded merely for disabling auto-renew.
- Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms, not by Creative Sonar, LLC. Request a refund at https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 .
- Price changes. If we change the subscription price, we will notify you in accordance with Apple's rules; a new price applies only on a renewal after you have had the opportunity to review it and, if you disagree, cancel beforehand.
- Apple terms. Your purchase is also governed by the Apple Media Services Terms: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/ .
3. Account
Home Library Companion requires an account created via Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.
4. User content and shared libraries
The App lets you add content (book entries, locations, notes, and cover photos) and share a library with other people you invite. You retain ownership of the content you create. By adding content to a shared library, you grant the other members of that library, and us (solely to operate the service), the right to store and display that content within the App.
You are responsible for the content you contribute and for whom you invite to a shared library. Only invite and share with people you trust.
5. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior
There is zero tolerance for objectionable, abusive, harassing, illegal, or otherwise inappropriate content or conduct in shared libraries. You agree not to upload, post, or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or that infringes anyone's rights, and not to harass or abuse other members.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this clause. To support this:
- Report content. You can report objectionable content from a shared book's detail screen.
- Remove members. A library owner can remove a member from a shared library.
- Leave a library. Any member can leave a shared library at any time.
We will act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users, including by ejecting violators, within a reasonable time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App or its service, including by attempting to access it in unauthorized ways, interfering with its operation, abusing the Ask feature or backend, or violating any applicable law.
7. AI-assisted features
The Ask feature uses automated and AI-assisted processing to surface books in your own library that relate to your query. Results are provided "as is" and may be incomplete or imperfect; they are suggestions, not professional advice.
8. Intellectual property
The App, its design, and its software are owned by Creative Sonar, LLC and protected by law. These Terms grant you no rights in our trademarks or branding.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Creative Sonar, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Questions: [email protected] — Creative Sonar, LLC.
